Kelvin Wade is a 44-year-old Northern California freelance writer who has been writing an opinion column for the Fairfield Daily Republic for 19 years now. His first Daily Republic column, written while he attended Grange Middle School ran from '79-'80. He has also produced newsletters, flyers and other publications for numerous associations.
Voracious reading and a curiosity bordering on obsession, whether on politics or current events, inform Kelvin’s observations and opinions. As a product of a Republican father who spent 30 years in the U.S. Navy and a hardworking, religious Democratic mother in a family of five boys, his progressively moderate observations are delivered with a good dollop of common sense.
Kelvin was co-founder of the Bay Area Survivors of Suicide and formerly worked for the FSUSD's maintenance department.
He's completely devoted to his long time superior-half Cathi while raising three pooches, the notorious Beagle Brothers (Tyson and Theo) and a sophisticated Maltoodle (Rafiki better known as Rafi).
