Although not a writer by profession, Christy has discovered writing as a format to communicate her experiences and the issues she encounters as a Registered Nurse and new mother. She graduated with her B.S. in Health Education from California State University, Sacramento in 2003 and after a brief stint as a Health Educator for Kaiser Permanente she returned to school to pursue a new career in Nursing. In 2007 she received her B.S. in Nursing and obtained her license as a California state Registered Nurse. In 2010 she received her Masters in Nursing with an emphasis on nursing education.
Having been born with a congenital heart defect (Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia), she has a passion for working with hospitalized children. Christy specializes in the care of children in the pediatric intensive care unit.
The focus of Christy's life currently is her son, Noah, who was born January 2010, and her husband Steve. The challenges of adjusting to parenthood have provided Christy and Steve with plenty of laughs, tears, and moments of terror which she hopes you, dear reader, will also find amusement in.
